More revisions to the Stacey Centre proposals

The latest design for the Stacey centre

Plans for the Stacey centre's construction have gone to and fro, but it seems the latest proposals may well go ahead.

After previous announcements that the Centre would no longer be finished, revisions to how the structure is to be built means the project is back on.

Its been quite a journey geting to this stage as Head Architect Martin Teatree describes: "Everything seemed to be on track to start with, but not long into the initial construction we came across some problems. It seems the paper cups we were using to build the structures shell kept blowing away."

Eventually the team converted to more traditional building materials, but there were more setbacks. "We had problems getting the door to work the way we wanted it, so my co-designer Simon Halter suggested we remove the door altogether. However, this proved to be a problem in itself, as it made getting inside the structure considerably more difficult. I guess it was just one of those unforseen circumstances that no-one can really predict when you're breaking new ground."
